Refund and cancellation policy
Last updated 4 October 2026
Read the latest version onlineThis policy explains how cancellations and refunds work on TripToPahar. TripToPahar does not sell stays: travelers book and pay homestays directly. The only payments TripToPahar receives are for optional host plans (Plus and Premium), so most of this policy is about those plans.
This policy is part of our Terms of use.
1. For travelers: payments to homestays
TripToPahar does not take bookings or collect any money for a stay. Advances, payments, cancellations and refunds for a stay are agreed between you and the host, under the cancellation policy the host gives you. TripToPahar cannot cancel a stay or refund money you paid a host.
- Before you pay, ask the host for their cancellation and refund terms in writing (a WhatsApp message is enough). Many hosts also show them on their TripToPahar listing.
- Pay small advances by traceable methods such as UPI or bank transfer, and keep the receipt.
- If a host does not honour their terms, or a listing looks fraudulent, report the listing from its page or write to us. We will look into it and may suspend or remove the listing. For fraud, you can also report it at cybercrime.gov.in or by calling 1930.
2. For hosts: what you pay for
Listing a homestay is free. Plus and Premium are optional monthly or yearly plans that add features to your listing. The features and price of each plan are shown on the plan page before you pay. Prices are in Indian rupees and include GST.
Plans are a digital service: there is nothing to ship. A plan starts as soon as your payment is confirmed, usually within a few minutes. If you paid but your plan has not started within 24 hours, contact us and we will fix it or refund you in full.
3. Cancelling a plan
You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your plan stays active until the end of the month or year you have already paid for, and then your homestay moves to the Free plan. Your listing, photos within the Free limit, reviews and past inquiries are kept.
- Paid on the host dashboard (Razorpay): Plan and billing → Cancel plan. You can undo the cancellation before the period ends.
- Paid in the TripToPahar Host app on iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → TripToPahar Host → Cancel Subscription.
- Paid in the TripToPahar Host app on Android: Google Play → profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → TripToPahar Host → Cancel.
- Plan arranged with our team: Email [email protected].
To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Deleting your account stops dashboard plans from renewing, but store subscriptions must be cancelled in the store.
4. Changing plans
When you switch between Plus and Premium on the host dashboard, the new plan's features apply straight away and the new price is charged from your next renewal. No part-period charge or refund is made for the switch. In the app, upgrades and downgrades follow the App Store's or Google Play's rules, which may charge or credit the difference.
5. When we give refunds
Plan payments are non-refundable, and we do not refund part-used months or years, unused features, or periods after you downgraded, cancelled or stopped using the Service. We will refund a payment made on the host dashboard in full when:
- you were charged more than once for the same plan and period;
- you were charged for a renewal after you had cancelled, as long as you tell us within 30 days of the charge;
- you paid but your plan did not start, and we could not fix it within 24 hours of you telling us; or
- a refund is required by law.
We do not refund plan time if your listing or account is suspended or removed for breaking our Terms of use.
6. How to ask for a refund
Email [email protected] from your host account's email address within 30 days of the payment, with your homestay name, the invoice number or Razorpay payment ID, and the reason. We reply within 2 working days and decide within 7 working days.
Approved refunds are paid to the card, UPI account or bank account you paid from, through Razorpay. Banks usually take 5 to 7 working days to show the money in your account after we issue the refund. If an invoice was issued, we issue a matching GST credit note.
7. Failed or pending payments
If money left your account but the payment shows as failed, it is usually returned automatically by your bank or Razorpay within 5 to 7 working days. If it has not come back after that, contact us with the transaction reference and we will help trace it.
If a renewal payment fails, your plan keeps working for a 3-day grace period while payment is retried. If it still fails, your homestay moves to the Free plan; you can buy a plan again at any time.
8. App Store and Google Play purchases
Plans bought in the TripToPahar Host app are sold and billed by Apple or Google, and refunds are decided by them under their own policies. TripToPahar cannot issue these refunds.
- Apple: Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Google Play: Request a refund in Google Play under Payments and subscriptions → Budget and history, or see Google Play's refund help page. If Google directs you to us, write to us and we will review your request under this policy.
9. Contact and complaints
For anything about payments, cancellations or refunds, email [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact our Grievance Officer, Deep Saha, at [email protected]. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days.
